When I tell the story of my week learning about Hopi pottery and culture, I describe the class experience as an out of this world experience with a once in a lifetime group of people selected by Heaven, or by the Universe just for this occasion.  I am so honored to be one of the chosen few.  I have come away far richer than when I started.  Thank you so much and thanks to Ursula for Taos Art School.

Respect for the Earth.

Everything that is comes from the Earth. And you must not forget that you come from the Earth as well. When making a pot, you must listen to the Earth, and the clay will speak to you, and you must simply let the clay guide the shape and the pot will become. The clay is alive. The clay will guide your hands. You must never go against the will of the clay, which is ultimately the will of the Earth, and the path to happiness.

From a post card to support the American Indian College Fund given to me by a dear friend.
