WHAT DOES OUR DAILY SCHEDULE LOOK LIKE ?

The first day is not a painting day, as we climb into trucks and scout the entire canyon for the painting sites we will be returning to all week. This will be a full day, as the canyon is quite large. We return late afternoon to our camp to set up tents and enjoy our first dinner together.

Each of the five following days are devoted exclusively to painting and photography. We will travel by truck to a chosen site for the day. Some days we might have the option to be at a different site morning and afternoon.

The group needs to stay together. This is a restriction placed on being in the canyon for six days, accompanied by a licensed Navajo guide at all times. No exceptions.

The final day, we paint all day, break up camp, and return to the hotel for our final group dinner (and a most welcome shower). Departure is the next morning after breakfast.

Two afternoons you will have the option to take a three hour horseback ride with your Navajo guide. If this is your choice, you will need to sign up ahead of time, when you return your information sheet.

the campfire awoke
